1. Welcome to Kopje Limburg These terms and conditions apply to your use of the website (kopjelimburg.nl), your subscription to the newsletter, and your participation in our gamified community ecosystem and referral program. Kopje Limburg is a project managed by our team. Our primary goal is to build a vibrant, community-driven environment. To motivate and thank you for your contributions, we utilize a virtual reward system known as “Buurtkrachten” (points).

2. Age and Registration To subscribe to our newsletter, earn points, and participate in our referral program, you must be at least 16 years old.

3. The Points System, Referrals, and Fair Play As a member of Kopje Limburg, you can earn “Buurtkracht” points by completing missions (such as sharing stories or photos), playing mini-games, and inviting friends via your unique referral link. To keep the community authentic and secure, the following strict rules apply:

  • Geographic Focus: Kopje Limburg is a local initiative. We actively accept and reward members located in the Netherlands, as well as the immediate bordering regions of Belgium and Germany.
  • Fair Play & Fake Accounts: The reward system is intended for personal use and real community engagement. Self-referrals (referring yourself using alternate email addresses) and creating fake emails to falsely generate points are strictly prohibited. Engaging in this behavior will result in the immediate termination of your account and permanent removal from the referral program.
  • Spam & Automation: The use of bots, automated scripts, or spamming strangers on the internet to farm points is not allowed.
  • Zero Tolerance for VPN Abuse: Using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) or IP spoofing to bypass our geographic referral checks and falsely claim referral points is strictly forbidden.
  • Bugs and Exploits: If you discover a bug, glitch, or exploit within the points system, mini-games, or shop, you are required to report it to the administration immediately. Abusing exploits for personal favor (e.g., farming infinite points) will not be tolerated.
  • Right to Penalize: If we detect malicious activities, cheating, or violations of this Fair Play policy, we reserve the right to take immediate action. This includes the rollback of illicitly gained points, cancellation of pending orders, and the permanent deletion of the offending account without warning.
  • Right to Modify Mechanics: Because Kopje Limburg is a dynamic project, we reserve the right to change, pause, or completely terminate game mechanics, point values, mini-game limits, weekly resets, and specific rewards at any time without prior notice.

4. Program Termination & Point Expiry While we aim to run Kopje Limburg for a long time, the project may eventually conclude. If our website shuts down permanently, the referral program and point system will be terminated. In this event, we will inform the public and all users at least one (1) month in advance. You will have exactly one month from the time of the announcement to consume your existing points in the shop. After this period, any remaining points are non-transferable, possess no monetary value, and will be voided. They cannot be exchanged for cash or rewards.

5. Reward Liability and Indemnification Regarding the rewards available in our shop, Kopje Limburg and its team: (a) make no warranty, guaranty, or representation of any kind concerning the rewards; (b) disclaim any implied warranty; and (c) are not in any way responsible or liable for damage, loss, or injury resulting from the acceptance and use of any reward.

The subscriber assumes full liability for injuries or damages of any kind caused, or claimed to be caused, by participating in the promotion, or by the acceptance, possession, or use of any physical or digital reward. By participating in the referral program or community points system, all subscribers agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Kopje Limburg, its affiliates, local partners, agencies, and their respective employees and agents, from any claim, injury, damage, liability, or loss that may occur, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from participation in this program.

Furthermore, Kopje Limburg reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, suspend, or modify the promotion if it becomes corrupted in any manner such that it cannot be conducted as originally planned. ANY ATTEMPT BY ANY PERSON TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR TAMPER WITH THE REFERRAL SYSTEM, OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE PROMOTION, IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. IF SUCH AN ATTEMPT IS MADE, KOPJE LIMBURG RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.

6. The Shop and Physical Rewards Have you saved up enough Buurtkrachten to claim a physical reward in our shop? Great! Please note the following fulfillment conditions:

  • Premium Rewards and the 9-Month Loyalty Rule: To ensure fairness and reward true long-term community members, certain high-value items designated as “Premium Rewards” in the shop description cannot be claimed immediately. Users must maintain an active membership for at least nine (9) consecutive months before points can be redeemed for these items.
  • Discretionary Early Release: We stand for fairness. In special circumstances, Kopje Limburg reserves the right to release Premium Rewards earlier than the 9-month period if, upon manual audit, we determine that points were earned legitimately through authentic community engagement and not through illegal methods, bots, or referral system abuse.
  • Local Delivery & Shipping Fees: Physical rewards are intended for local fulfillment. Because we are a local project, we offer free shipping or local delivery for addresses within the Netherlands, and nearby regions in Belgium and Germany. If you request a physical item to be shipped outside of these standard regions, you may be required to shoulder the delivery/shipping fees.
  • Office Pick-up: Claiming your physical prizes in person at our office is always allowed and warmly welcomed!
  • Alternatives: For locations where shipping is not feasible, we reserve the right not to deliver certain larger physical rewards or to offer digital alternatives instead.

7. User-Generated Content (Photos & Stories) We love seeing your contributions to the community! By submitting stories, photos, or other content to Kopje Limburg (for example, via our weekly missions), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use, edit, publish, and distribute this content across our website, newsletters, and social media channels. You retain the original copyright to your work, but you give us permission to share it with the neighborhood. Please ensure you only submit content that you own or have the explicit right to share.

8. Content and Liability The content of the Kopje Limburg newsletter and website is purely intended for inspiration and entertainment. Although we carefully select the most beautiful stories, walking routes, and terraces for you, we cannot guarantee that opening hours, prices, or the accessibility of external locations are always 100% up to date. Visiting any of our recommended locations is always at your own responsibility.

9. Artificial Intelligence and Content Generation

  • AI-Assisted Curation: Kopje Limburg utilizes advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to assist in the discovery, translation, and summarization of local news and public information.
  • Human Editorial Oversight: To ensure accuracy, local relevance, and brand integrity, all news content undergoes meaningful human review. A human editor holds final editorial responsibility for all published text. While we strive for 100% accuracy, Kopje Limburg is an informational service and we do not guarantee the absolute correctness of automated summaries.
  • Synthetic Imagery: Visual content may be generated or enhanced using AI tools. These images are intended for illustrative purposes only and do not represent actual photographic evidence of events unless explicitly stated.
  • Transparency: In accordance with the EU AI Act (2026), any content generated entirely by AI without human editorial intervention will be clearly marked as such at the point of consumption.
