The municipality of Sittard-Geleen is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and to mark the occasion they are launching an architecture prize! It is a great opportunity to reflect on what makes our city and villages look the way they do, and which buildings or spaces deserve some recognition.
Here is what you need to know:
- Anyone can submit a project, including you! ✋
- The project must be located in Sittard-Geleen and built or renovated between 2001 and 2025.
- Submissions are open until 1 August 2026.
What kind of projects qualify? Think homes, schools, offices, sports halls, bridges, renovated monuments with a new purpose, or public spaces like parks. So really a wide range! 🏫🌳🏗️
A panel of experts will select 15 nominees, and then a professional jury picks the winner. And the best part: there is also a public vote where you as a resident can vote for your favorite!
