If you were in Vaals these past weeks, you might have caught it live. And if you were not there… you seriously missed out.
As part of the World Music Competition, two amazing music groups visited our little town:
- 🇹🇭 On July 10, the Ratchasima Witthayalai Marching Band from Thailand performed under beautiful summer skies. The musicians loved the warm welcome from locals and visitors.
- 🎺 On July 27, the National Youth Fanfare Orchestra took the stage at Von Clermontplein. Young talented musicians playing their hearts out right in the center of Vaals.
Alderman Kompier looks back on both evenings with a big smile and thanks everyone who showed up or helped organize. These moments prove that music connects people, whether you are from Thailand or from the street next door.
The World Music Competition takes place every four years in the Kerkrade region and is one of the largest music contests on the planet, attracting participants from over 30 countries. The fact that Vaals was selected as a host location for these performances confirms the village’s growing cultural role in the Three Country Point area.
