You probably know one. That nephew who does groceries for the sick neighbor every week. Your daughter’s friend who gives free football coaching. Or that girl next door who has been volunteering for a charity for years. Voerendaal has more of these young heroes than you might realize.
The municipality thinks they deserve some recognition. That is why the Youth Ribbon will be awarded for the second time in November 2026. It is a wonderful way to appreciate young people between 6 and 18 years old who make a positive impact on their neighborhood, club, or community.
How do you nominate someone? Easy:
- Send an email to info@voerendaal.nl before October 1, 2026
- Include your name, email address, and phone number
- Provide the details of the young person (name, address, age)
- Briefly describe why this person deserves the ribbon
Think of kids who volunteer, care for nature, help out in the neighborhood, or have done something special for Voerendaal. More information is available on the municipal webpage about the Youth Ribbon.
This is only the second time Voerendaal is awarding the Youth Ribbon. The municipality introduced this initiative to recognize the youngest generation alongside the existing Royal Decorations for adults. The ribbon is personally presented by the Mayor and Aldermen during a special ceremony in November.
