Hey Meers neighbors, your voice genuinely matters here! 🏡
On Tuesday 2 June, Zaal de Hoorn filled up for the second residents evening of the project ‘Meers, Ready for the Future’. And it was a meaningful one.
Bureau HeusschenCopier (specialists in landscape and urban design) walked everyone through the history of Meers and showed which opportunities lie ahead for the coming years.
So what happens next?
- The research findings plus your ideas get merged into one transformation vision for the village
- HeusschenCopier, engineering firm PlanburoB and the Stein municipality will work it out together
- The input from the January meetings still counts too, nothing gets lost
After the presentation, residents broke into small groups to talk. Ideas, worries, bold plans, everything was welcome on the table. Because that is the whole point: Meers gets built together. 💬
The full presentation and added answers to questions raised that night are now on the project page under ‘Inwonersavonden Meers’ and ‘Veelgestelde vragen Meers’.
What makes this approach unique: HeusschenCopier did not just look ahead, they first dove deep into the history of Meers. The reasoning? You can only properly evolve a village if you truly understand how it came to be. That historical layer is now becoming the foundation under every future choice in the transformation vision.
