Great news for everyone with a mobility scooter in our community! After the success of past years, we’re hitting the road again. Together with Safe Traffic Netherlands (VVN), Beekdaelen is organizing three friendly group rides. Fun company, a few handy tips on safe riding, and a cozy break with snacks and drinks along the way. 🛵
Because our municipality is pretty spread out, there are three starting points again this year. Pick the one closest to home:
- July 15, Nuth, departing from the town hall
- July 22, Schinnen, departing from the town hall
- July 29, Schinveld, departing from the former town hall
All rides start at 2:00 PM sharp, so try to be there a little early. Each tour takes about 2.5 to 3 hours over paved paths and roads. ☕
Want to join? Call Isel Weijenberg (06-51760328) or Herman Palm (06-27570273), or send an email to beekdaelen@vvnregio.nl with your preferred date.
Heads up: mobility aid supplier Meyra won’t be riding along this year, but they’re available by phone for emergencies.
This ride isn’t just a casual outing: it’s part of Safe Traffic Netherlands’ national ‘Mobility Scooter Course’ program, which has shown that scooter-related accidents drop by nearly 30% among participants who complete the practical lessons and group rides. The mix of socializing and stealth traffic education is no accident, it’s proven to work.
