Great news for anyone looking to green up their garden! The municipality of Beek is joining the national Tile Swapping Championship (NK Tegelwippen) again this year. That means: tiles out, plants in! 🌱
Why does it matter? More greenery in your garden helps absorb rainwater during heavy showers, cools things down in summer, and attracts butterflies, bees and birds. Everyone wins!
On Saturday May 30 and June 13, residents of Beek can hand in their garden tiles and receive free plants in return. Here is how it works:
- For every tile (30×30 cm) you get a plant voucher worth 2 euros
- Maximum of 20 tiles per household
- That is up to 40 euros in plant credit!
- Bigger or smaller stones will be converted to the 30×30 format
You can visit Beeker Tuincentrum (Adsteeg 31) or Welkoop (Wethouder Sangersstraat 392), both days from 10:00 to 15:00.
Good to know: vouchers are only valid for outdoor plants and potting soil (no tropical plants). You can only redeem them on the same day and at the same garden center where you dropped off your tiles. No cash payouts.
