The Zuilenzaal is ready: exercise, learning and music all under one roof

1x

Great news for the Leyenbroek neighborhood! The Zuilenzaal in the old monastery complex has been fully renovated and is ready for action. Kindcentrum Carré desperately needed a proper space for the youngest kids to move and play, and now they have one.

So what will the renewed hall be used for?

  • 🏃 Physical education for the little ones at Kindcentrum Carré
  • 👶 Childcare facilities
  • 🎵 Rehearsal space for Fanfare Sint Jan outside school hours

The municipality of Sittard-Geleen and school board Kindante jointly invested around 650,000 euros to make this happen. The beautiful part? The hall used to be a refectory, and TEAM architects made sure that history is still visible and tangible in the new design.

Now for the fun part: everyone is welcome on Saturday June 6th for a festive evening celebrating the return of Fanfare Sint Jan to the neighborhood. Especially neighbors are warmly invited! At the end of May, the students of Kindcentrum Carré will host their own festive opening led by the student council.

This way, the monastery complex stays a place where education, culture and the community come together. 🎉
