Big news from Hoensbroek! De Regenboog primary school now has something no other school in the Netherlands can brag about: a brand new covered outdoor gym. And it is seriously cool!
The kids can go wild on all kinds of fun play and sports equipment, including:
- Rings and ropes for swinging and hanging
- Climbing frames for the brave ones
- Obstacle courses to test balance and agility
The grand opening was a blast. Councillor for Education Jordy Clemens came to officially open the gym together with the students. And the kids? They did not need to be asked twice. There was rope hanging, obstacle climbing, and most importantly, loads of laughter. 😄
The best part about this covered gym is that children can exercise outdoors in the fresh air all year round, even when it is raining or windy. That is not just great for their health, it actually helps them do better in school too. Moving and learning really do go hand in hand!
A wonderful example of how the school and the municipality of Heerlen are investing together in the health of our youngest residents. 💪
